Wings, officially known as PT Wings Surya, is an Indonesian consumer goods company founded on September 21, 1948, in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The company was established by Johannes Ferdinand Katuari and Harjo Sutanto, who initially operated a small household soap business under the name Fa. Thong Fat, later known as Fa Wings. Its first product, Wings Soap, was produced on a small scale and distributed directly to consumers. As the business expanded, the company developed into one of Indonesia’s established manufacturers of everyday consumer products, with PT Wings Surya becoming its corporate name in 1991.
PT Wings Surya operates primarily in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, covering household products, personal care, food and beverages, and other daily necessities. Its product categories include detergents, soaps, toothpaste, shampoo, personal hygiene products, cleaning products, instant noodles, beverages, coffee, snacks, and other consumer goods distributed across Indonesia and international markets. The company continues the business legacy established by its founders, with Wings developing a broad portfolio of brands and manufacturing operations while maintaining its headquarters and historical roots in Surabaya, Indonesia.
